Palin. For VP. McIdiot really outdid himself. Not that I think, for one moment, that John McCain had any influence on the choice of this complete neophyte, radically conservative ideologue (even using that term gives her more credit than she deserves), part time governor, sports journalism degree holding, “nucular” sayin’ woman who doesn’t even FOLLOW the Iraq war, and who had to be told, after explicitly asking, just what the VP job entails. Carl Rove is all over this. For the Rethug ticket, the choice of VP is even more important than it is for the Democrats, given McDork’s health problems and advancing age. After watching the wonderful chemistry between Barack and Joe, we’re supposed to believe that McCain and Palin are going to GOVERN well together? For God’s sake, he’s met her ONCE before this, and that meeting only lasted a short time! If she even KNOWS about the issues, she’s on the wrong side, and yet rabid McCorpse supporters are trying to tell us she has MORE experience than Barack. They are even trying to spin the fact that Alaska borders on Russia and Canada as proof of her ongoing international experience! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I will say again, to the other countries of the world, I’m SORRY for the idiocy you see here in the US. Not the free choice that we have to elect those we believe in, but the general idiocy of a populace that has brought you 8 years of DubYa, and now threatens to completely obliterate the reputation of what was once the last best hope for Democracy. If we should elect this travesty of a ticket as a new republican administration, we will deserve the harsh words we receive, and the lack of respect we will be seen with. It’s absolutely insane. We stand on the brink of electing the best, most capable president in the history of the USA, and we still seem poised to snatch defeat out of th jaws of victory. In the words of Bluto Blutarski, with reference to Election Night 2008:
“This could be the greatest night of our lives…..but you’re going to let it be the worst!!!! Well, NOT ME!!! I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS!”
Right Bluto. Neither am I.

In the words of Eric Cartman: “Looks like you just got PWNED“!!!!!!!!!
Lots to say, and as the convention enters Day 2, many things have occurred since my last post. Lets see:
John McCain can’t remember how many houses he has without help, but, hell, he was a POW so that’s OK.
John McCain continues to attack Obama using Hillary’s words and Biden’s debate comments…but that’s OK since he has nothing positive to say about himself.

To Be Continued……
I guess I’m not alone in thinking the it’s very strange that we’ve got all this negative press on the Edwards affair, despite the fact that it ended 2 years ago with the Senator reconciling with his wife, yet the affair that led to John McCain’s abandonment of his severely injured wife, and his parasitic lifestyle with her, is not even mentioned. A pass? McCain has been thrown a HAIL MARY PASS on this one. For God’s sake, the man cheated multiple times on his first wife, then cheated with little Cindy, then finally abandoned his first wife to marry Cindy.
If the Edwards issue is supposed to “hurt the Democratic Party”, and derail Edwards’ career, why do the same consequences not lie in wait for McShame? Because it’s “McCain being McCain”? Bullshit. It’s McCain being an asshole, and not being called on it.
Here’s some of the press this issue is getting from clear thinkers.
Here’s some more.
One thing I AM disturbed about, but again, when compared to McCain…..why the issue. The question of what would happen now to Edwards’ white house bid if he were the democratic nominee at this point. While most in the MSM suggest, and probably correctly, that democratic chances would be destroyed, just exactly WHY SHOULD THIS BE, IF MCBUSH’s affairs and abandonment aren’t hurting HIS chances for the white house? I think that Edwards’ made a bad judgment in running when he knew this would come out for one reason: Democrats can’t do anything scandalous without severe impact and damage to the “party”, republicans, well, I guess we think that sort of behavior is in their nature so we don’t give it any significance?
Pretty freakin’ sad.
I have to put in a link to a great article on the Huff Post by Bob Cesca. Truly inspired read of the issues surrounding the incompetent campaign of John McTrashTalk.
Read it and enjoy!
Oh, and Dana Millbank? Nobody misses you. Putz.
McCain’s camp will stop at nothing to trivialize, marginalize and demonize Senator Obama. In the spirit of using Obama’s strength (his popularity, his speaking ability, his ability to motivate and inspire, and his rational approach to the energy crisis, among others) as NEGATIVES, he’s now using his NEGATIVES to try to bolster his image with those of us gullible enough to believe his filth: A wonderful comment on the Huffington Post says it well:
TheMightyT on the Huffington Post Writes:
“Unbelievable.
The “surge strategy” isn’t a strategy at all. It’s a band-aid; an attempt at fixing a catastrophe that was caused by complete LACK of strategy. And it’s failed on at least four levels. Hard to believe the Mc C ain campaign is using foreign policy failure to prop up an economic plank. Especially considering who his economic advisors were / are!
Phil Gramm, architect of the mortgage crises and the enron loophole which are directly contributing to the economic downturn via foreclosures, oil market manipulation, bank failures (well, they WOULD fail but for the B ush bailouts).
It’s topsy turvy land; the people who have CAUSED the disasters at home and abroad are touted as the SOLUTION to those problems, while those who have real ideas and vision to get things back on track are derided as lightweights advancing tire inflation as a cure to the energy crisis.
It makes the brain hurt. Are people REALLY that gullible?
This is a great Washington Post article.
